The Rise of Demons

Black fire has been seen in Black Hollow.

Most of the Grand Elven Council dismiss it as nonsense from a broken town. Vivrel Ginlo does not. He has spent years studying old accounts of demons, and the report from Black Hollow sounds far too familiar to ignore.

So he goes there himself.

What he finds is worse than rumour: a burned ritual site, strange markings, and signs that something tried to claw its way into the world.

While Vivrel follows the trail of the black fire, High Commander Calilas Larethan is sent to Xymn after a robbery at the Vault of Osgrua. Three old relics have been stolen from the Council’s deposit box, and the Thieving Syndicate may be involved.

Calilas’ search brings him to Marcella, a young woman with nowhere to go and a dangerous magic she barely understands. She knows the streets of Xymn better than he does, and she may be the only way to get close to the Syndicate.

Two investigations. One stolen set of relics. A series of failed rituals. But could these investigations be more entwined than originally believed?
