How to Create a Universal Book Link

Create a Universal Book Link step by step: import your book, review its editions and stores, publish the reader page, and track each campaign separately.

A Universal Book Link gives you one maintained URL to share for a book instead of a separate link for every retailer, country, and edition.

With Tutarium, you can start from a supported Amazon URL, ISBN, or ASIN. The first version can be quick; the important work is reviewing what readers will see before you publish it.

1. Start with the book

Open the Tutarium book-link builder and paste a supported Amazon book URL, ISBN, or ASIN.

Tutarium uses that source to give you a head start on editable book details. Automatic metadata is useful, but it is not a substitute for the author checking the title, name, cover, description, and edition.

2. Review the reader-facing page

Make sure the page answers the reader's immediate questions:

  • Is this the right book and author?
  • What is it about?
  • Which formats are available?
  • Which buying option should I choose?

Use a clear cover, concise description, and relevant praise. A Universal Book Link should reduce decisions, not turn into another cluttered link directory.

3. Add and verify editions

Add the formats you genuinely sell: paperback, Kindle, hardcover, audiobook, or a special edition.

Keep edition labels and identifiers accurate. Routing-only edition URLs should support the canonical book experience rather than become duplicate search pages.

4. Configure retailer destinations

Add the retailer URLs you can verify. For regional Amazon routing, use the correct marketplace destination and affiliate tag for each supported country where applicable.

Do not assume one country's Amazon URL will work cleanly for everyone. Universal Book Link vs Amazon Link explains the difference.

Your canonical /b/ URL is the link for the book itself. It can remain stable while you improve the page, add an edition, or update buying options later.

Share that durable link from evergreen places such as your website, author profile, back matter, or general book listing.

Use a separate clean /c/ campaign link for each newsletter, social promotion, podcast, advertisement, event, or QR code you want to compare.

Those campaign links resolve into the same book and edition flow while preserving attribution through the reader journey. Internal campaign parameters are not added to the outbound retailer URL.

7. Read the right result

Compare landing views, retailer clicks, countries, stores, and campaigns. This shows which promotion generated retailer traffic.

It does not prove that a retailer purchase occurred. Keep that boundary in mind when you decide what to repeat.

Your publishing checklist

Before sharing the link, confirm:

  1. The title, author, cover, and description are correct.
  2. Every visible edition is active and available.
  3. Retailer destinations open the expected book and format.
  4. The page works on a small screen.
  5. The canonical book link is used for evergreen placements.
  6. Each measurable promotion has its own campaign link.
